Ankur Gupta is a BA Fashion and Textile graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology. In 2007, whilst studying he was invited to join an exchange programme at LCF to study a BA womenswear.
Children, Dreams & Interpretations and the surreal side of Hindu gods inspire Ankur’s collection ‘Ambiguous Desires of a Child’. The collection, supported by Crystallized Swarovski, explores humour in the everyday life of a child with each outfit being based on a surreal story.
Using couture production methods, beads and sequins are hand embroidered onto appliquéd and patch-worked luxurious fabrics such as silks.
During his studies Ankur gained experience working with Swash, Caroline Charles and Manish Arora. In 2009 he reached the finals of ITS#8 (International Talent Support) and is now seeking to collaborate with brands to explore new dimensions in designing.
