Dolce & Gabbana SS16 Campaign #ItaliaIsLove
There is a lot of Italian love going around and in the new Dolce & Gabbana SS16 campaign it’s clear that most of it is directed (or self-directed) in a form of the shameless selfie. We all seem to be at these days so perfect for the Italian Duo to muscle in on this socially acceptable trend and poke fun at how self-obsessed we are all becoming – before every other brand takes advantage of the technological addiction.
Stephano and Dominico (who shot the campaign) continue pushing their committed theme of Family (and a few friends) as the group of models and extras swell to include an even larger safety-in-numbers set of bodies into the frame. We have to say it’s nice to see their campaigns looking more playful this season. This realignment from sexualised imagery to the ‘internationally safe’ that has spanned over many campaigns has been a little oppressing.
