Gucci 1921 | 90th Anniversary Collection
Gucci celebrates its 90th anniversary this year by launching the ‘1921 Collection‘, a special assortment of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear garments and accessories.
The collection is “Paying homage to the icons, craftsmanship and luxury materials for which the house is renowned” explains Creative Director Frida Gianni.
Accessories, belts and travel bags will carry a new trade mark- G. GUCCI Firenze 1921, with highlights including crocodile and calfskin versions of the New Bamboo, the New Jackie and the Horsebit Chain handbags whilst two vintage inspired men’s travel suitcases embossed with the historic diamante pattern come in calf skin.
Reference is made to the labels equestrian roots as horse riding boots and the timeless Horsebit loafer form a central part of the collection as watches and sunglasses are accented with leather.
Carré foulard and ready-to-wear silk cotton blended shirts are printed with horsebits, bridles swaying to form loose Gs and the Crest, with its historical armor; whilst a double-breasted trench and cashmere suede blazer are also lined with the prints.
Finally the Horsebit bracelet is updated in the form of a silver and gold bangle and adds a final touch to a very special collection from Gucci.
