Nicola Formichetti Interview for thecorner.com

To celebrate the launch of its dedicated mini-store selling the Autumn/Winter 2011 Mugler collection, thecorner.com has an exclusive interview with the brand’s new creative director Nicola Formichetti.

In the ‘piece-to-camera’ Nicola talks about his past experience and introduces the collection ‘Anatomy of Change’. For AW11 Nicola and his design team delved into the Mugler archives, simplifying past silhouettes and designs by researching the anatomy and DNA of the brand.

Nicola also explains his aim to create a “digital fashion house” by pushing fashion film and live streaming the catwalk show live online and via Twitter and Facebook, allowing “people at home the best seats.”

The Mugler offering itself features key pieces from the AW11 catwalk show including power shoulder dresses, a leopard print dress, drainpipe trousers, 7 inch ankle boots and platform shoes.
